Leora Dillow was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2012 from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she majored in Liberal Arts. She received Cornell University’s Plant-Based Nutrition certification in 2013, followed by the Nutritional Therapy Association’s Functional-Nutritional Therapy Practitioner designation in 2014. In 2021, Leora also received the designation Death Companion Initiate through the School of American Thanatology.

She has been vegetarian her entire life, with veganism dabbled in for five years in-between. Her belief is that health and wellness is very personal; that a diet for one person may not fit another persons needs is her prime motivation in nutritional wellness. This includes vegan and vegetarianism—which is commonly frowned upon in the holistic nutrition community.

Her 35 years in vegetarianism, her study of science-based plant-based nutrition, and her study of centenarians and Blue Zones, she will help guide those in need of non-clinical nutrition advice. In addition, with her study and work experience in End of Life care, she believes that eating simply and well, is a very healthful way for the human body to cope with grief.

Nutritional Therapy does not replace clinical medical care. Always speak to your Primary Care Physician or Registered Dietician to seek medical and clinical nutrition advice and diagnosis. If coping with immense feelings of grief, speak to your PCP or Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
