Barbara Zabriskie is the owner and director of Physical Therapy Partners, Inc. She is a 1986 graduate from University of Louisville where she received her Bachelors of Health Sciences. After moving to Maryland she worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital treating cardiac, amputees, neurological and orthopedic patient populations. Over the next nine years she worked at Maryland Center for Physical Therapy and Spine and Sports Rehab Center and focused on orthopedic patient care management. During her next ten years of employment she was employed by Medstar Health in both Montgomery and Howard County locations where she developed Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Programs. In fulfillment of a lifelong vision, Physical Therapy Partners, Inc. was opened in Sept 2008 specializing in orthopedics, oncology and pelvic floor. Although we opened with very limited clinic hours and only two exam rooms, the clinic has steadily grown and we now have a full administrative staff and six highly respected licensed physical therapists on staff.
Although Barbara has been a PT for over 30 years, she has been helping patients with pelvic floor dysfunction for the past 20 years. Her advanced training includes: GYN-ONC related issues, Urinary and Fecal Incontinence, Constipation/Defecation Dyssynergy, Interstitial Cystitis, Pre/Postpartum related issues, Pelvic Pain Dysfunction including Dyspareunia, Levator Ani Syndrome, Pudendal Neuralgia, Vulvodynia, Vaginismus and Vestibulitis. In addition to lecturing local physicians employed at regional hospitals and providing lectures for community based support groups, Barbara is a member of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Women’s Health Section of the APTA and Health Organization for Pudendal Neuralgia.
