I have been practicing as a physical therapist for over 20 years. I have extensive experience in acute care, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and orthopedics working at institutions including St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center in New York City, the Rusk Institute in New York City, McGill University Medical Center in Montreal, Canada and Alta Bates Summit Women's Health Center in Lafayette, CA.
For the past 15 years, I have dedicated myself to Women's Health and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, finding physical therapy treatments in this area to be incredibly effective and life-changing. I use my extensive orthopedic skills to treat the pelvis and the impact on the rest of the body, looking at posture, body mechanics, diet, and so much more. I believe strongly in evidence based treatments and providing excellent, patient-centric care. I hold dual board certifications as both a Women's Health Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and as a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. I am passionate about womens' health and spend time educating women and their partners about issues they are facing and the various treatments. I served as an instructor for Herman and Wallace Institute, teaching pelvic physical therapy courses to practitioners including physical and occupational therapists, and nurses. I developed the Pelvic Physical Therapy Program for the Alta Bates Summit Women's Health Center where I worked as lead therapist for 8 years before opening up my own practice, Women's Health and Healing. In my practice, I focus on treatment of women of all ages with pelvic floor issues, including incontinence/leakage (urinary, bowel and gas), pelvic pain, prolapse, pregnancy and post-partum conditions, sexual dysfunction, pain with intercourse and pelvic exams, constipation, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, sacroiliac disorders, pubic symphysis dysfunction, coccyx pain and other bowel and bladder dysfunctions.
