Elizabeth grew up in Yukon, Oklahoma with her parents and younger sister. She was involved in gymnastics and cheerleading when she was younger. She attended Yukon High School and was a cheerleader for the Millers. After high school, she attended the University of Oklahoma and went on to cheer for the OU Sooners from 2002-2004. Elizabeth also worked as a physical therapy technician during college and this was when she felt a calling to go into Physical Therapy as a profession. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies, she was accepted into the OU physical therapy program. Elizabeth received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2008.
While in PT school, Elizabeth was awarded the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association W.K. West Scholarship in 2007 and also received the Elam-Plowman Physical Therapy Scholarship in both 2007 and 2008. The scholarships were based on academic excellence and GPA. Elizabeth had several clinical affiliations in outpatient orthopedic settings which emphasized exercise progression as well as manual and manipulative therapy. She worked with orthopedic surgeons for the first two years after graduating and has extensive experience in the area of sports medicine and post-surgical rehabilitation.
In 2012, Elizabeth completed an orthopaedic physical therapy residency through Evidence in Motion. Elizabeth is one of the first physical therapists in Oklahoma to complete a post-graduate residency program. She also obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy through the same program. Graduating from the residency program qualified her to sit for an examination to become a Board Certified, Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). Elizabeth passed this test and obtained her OCS certification in June 2013.
In July 2016, Elizabeth received her Pelvic Health Certification through Evidence in Motion. This program was 12 months long and included online work along with 32 hours of classroom work. Elizabeth’s certification enables her to treat both women and men with pelvic pain, urinary and fecal incontinence, SI joint/hip dysfunction, chronic low back pain related to pelvic dysfunction, pregnancy/post-partum pain and pain with intercourse.
Elizabeth is currently an active member of both the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA).
