Kassie Dewitt, OTR/L, CLT, is a proud graduate of the University of Kansas Medical School in Occupational Therapy. She is currently finishing her advanced doctorate in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in Pelvic Floor Health and Rehabilitation. She earned her pelvic floor rehabilitation certifications from Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In 2018, Kassie earned her certification in Lymphedema specializing in the treatment of oncology clients through the school of Klose Lymphedema training. Kassie has earned several scholarships in the promotion of occupational therapy and the advancement in pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has shared her passion by educating students, patients, nurses, health care staff, and physicians. She is drawn to the field for several reasons, most importantly, the rehabilitation potential she sees in her patients to participate in their meaningful occupations. Kassie practices at Lee’s Summit Outpatient Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic and Saint Luke’s East Hospital.
Kassie currently treats a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions including mixed incontinence, urgency and stress incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, prenatal and postpartum mothers, painful intercourse (dyspareunia), diastasis recti, vaginismus, vulvodynia, fecal incontinence, constipation, and male pelvic pain. Her goal is to provide an integrative approach to pelvic dysfunction through the musculoskeletal system and restoring function with holistic treatment.
Kassie’s passion is to educate and inform providers and clients on the tools she integrates into treatment, often times before surgical intervention. Pelvic floor rehabilitation can minimize embarrassment from pelvic floor dysfunction while restoring health and wellness through exercise. Her passion continues to grow to provide a holistic and individualized treatment plan unique to each client by staying up to date with the most recent evidenced-based practice. Occupational Therapist
